Spring/Summer Makeup Trends

Spring/Summer makeup is the prettiest- who doesn’t love an excuse to pack on the highlighter and a bright lipstick?

Here are a few of the latest makeup trends that will make you want to pack away the last of your winter outfits (even if the weather isn’t playing ball)

  1. Glowing skin

Products like MAC Face and Body or a Garnier BB Cream are perfect for creating a lightweight base for the warmer months that are buildable in coverage. For extra ‘glow points’ add a dusting of highlighter on the top of the cheekbones and bridge of the nose for a subtle take on the strobing trend that is still going strong.

  1. Lived in liner

With this trend there’s a throwback to the nineties- black or brown liner on the lower lashline blended a small amount to appear ‘lived-in’ frames the eyes and pairs beautifully with glowing base makeup.

After applying the liner softly blending with your finger is the easiest way to create not too much of a grungy look keeping it appropriate for spring/summer.  For this look, try a liner that is not too hard like Rimmel’s Scandal Eyes Waterproof kohl liner in Bronze.

  1. Ocean inspired shadows

Bright shadows have been popping up all over the spring/summer shows, a sweep of blue or green across the eyelid is an easy way to create definition and feel like a mermaid in the process.

Give any outer corner definition a miss to keep the look light. Nars (limited edition) dual intensity shadows in ‘Tarvos’ and ‘Cressida’ are perfect for creating the look, a more affordable alternative is the Revlon Colourstay 16-hour eyeshadow quad in the shade ‘Inspired’.
